The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Rizalino S. Navarro Policy Center for Competitiveness (AIM RSN PCC), in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Philippines, held a roundtable discussion on SME Access to Finance on September 25, 2018 at the AIM. This forum is the first of a series of SME-related events to be hosted by the AIM RSN PCC. The forum has two main purposes – to gather expert opinion on the challenges and enablers of improving SME access to credit and finance; and to supplement an SME survey conducted by the AIM RSN PCC, including to seek inputs on how to interpret survey results.
The discussants were Mr. Apolinar Aure, co-chairman of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Committee of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, president of Discovery Islands Travel and Tours Philippines, and president of AEA International Inc.; Ms. Nassreena Sampaco-Baddiri, country director of the Innovations for Poverty Action; Ms. Pia Bernadette Roman Tayag, Director of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ Inclusive Finance Advocacy Office; Mr. Roland Gerard Veloso Jr., head Bank of the Philippine Islands’ Business Banking segment; and Mr. Christopher Caboverde, Research Associate at the AIM RSN PCC.
The summary of discussion points are detailed in the attached policy forum note. For questions or comments, please e-mail the AIM RSN PCC at email@example.com.
