FIRe Up the Government: A Discussion on Digital Governance in the Philippine Context

The Asian Institute of Management Rizalino S. Navarro Policy Center for Competitiveness (AIM RSN PCC), in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Philippines, conducted a roundtable discussion entitled, “FIRe Up the Government: a Discussion on Digital Governance in the Philippine Context” last July 11, 2019 at the Asian Institute of Management, Makati City. The event is the second in a series of fora being organized by AIM RSN PCC to discuss how the Philippines should respond to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (FIRe).

The Asian Institute of Management Rizalino S. Navarro Policy Center for Competitiveness (AIM RSN PCC), in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Philippines, held a roundtable discussion titled, “FIRe Up Education: STEM Education in the Fourth Industrial Revolution” on June 25 2019 at the Makati Diamond Residences, Makati City. The event, which is the first in a series of fora related to the FIRe, was attended by primarily by representatives of the education sector.

Navarro Policy Center for Competitiveness (AIM RSN PCC), in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Philippines held a public forum entitled “Philippine Competitiveness Update: The 2019 World Competitiveness Yearbook Results” on 29 May 2019 at the Asian Institute of Management Conference Center Manila, Makati City. The event launched the results of the 2019 World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY) for the Philippines. 

Transformation of Work in the Asia-Pacific in the 21st Century: Key Policy Implications

The Asian Institute of Management Rizalino S. Navarro Policy Center for Competitiveness (AIM RSN PCC), in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Philippines and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), held a public forum entitled “Transformation of Work in the Asia-Pacific in the 21st Century: Key Policy Implications” on 20 March 2019 at the Asian Institute of Management, Makati City. The conference was geared towards sharing the results of the ‘Transformation of Work in Asia-Pacific in the 21st Century’ project, a collaboration between AIM and APRU member schools.  It also provided a venue for high-level discussion on policy implications for education, competition policy, and business regulation.

Developing a Future-Ready Filipino Workforce for Competitiveness and Shared Prosperity

The Asian Institute of Management Rizalino S. Navarro Policy Center for Competitiveness (AIM RSN PCC), in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Philippines, held a conference entitled “Developing a Future-Ready Filipino Workforce for Competitiveness and Shared Prosperity” on 6 December 2018 at the Makati Diamond Residences, Makati City. The conference was geared towards: (1) promoting public appreciation and understanding of the impact of 4IR on jobs and overall Philippine competitiveness; and (2) providing a venue for industry players, policy makers, and academe to discuss the possible impact of 4IR on specific tasks in jobs in their own industries and assess the existing education system and its responsiveness to the 4IR.
